House guide
Should you need anything, please contact myself, Julien Brochu on the following details:
Julien Brochu: +32498560034 or contact me through the AirBnB messaging service.
Opening & Closing/Locking the doors:
- To lock the doors, you have to lift up the door handle to trigger the locking mechanism. Afterwards, you will be able to lock the door with the key (For both front and back doors).
Garbage:
- When you leave on Sunday, please put the garbage bin by the street (important!). You will find the bin at the front of the house.
- Garbage pickup service in Redu takes place on Monday morning early (7:00 a.m.) and the bin needs to be placed by the street.
- In Belgium, there is recycling and separation of general waster and plastics, glass, etc.
- All of the recyclable items should be brought back by all guests and dropped to the local recycling
Heating system:
- You will find the thermostat at the entrance of the house, beside the electrical pane. Make sure it is turned on when you arrive and set it to “prog” for the programmed state. By default, the temperature will be set to 20 degrees during the day and 16 degrees at night.
Fireplace:
- There is firewood outside to use for both the fireplace inside or the BBQ outside. Never leave the house or go to bed with an open flame fire still going. Always put out the fire for safety/fire hazard purposes.
- The chimney inside could have difficulty to "pull" smoke easily when cold. Try to heat it up with an open flame (with newspapers burning higher up in the chimney) to start with so start it up.
No smoking in the house is allowed!
Keep the place clean:
- We ask you to leave the place clean upon departure:
- wash the dishes
- sort out the trash
- leave the rooms and bathrooms clean (drop the towels and bed sheets in the laundry basket that is by the laundry machine)
- Accidents happen and things can break at times (glasses, plates, etc.). We'd kindly ask you to let us know should something break so we can make sure to replace/fix it.
User guides for apparels:
- User guides for our various appliances can be found in the buffet by the entrance.
Be mindful & respectful of the house & neighbors
- Do not make noise past 23:00 in the evening
- Please treat the house as you would want your house to be looked after
- Turn off the lights and turn down the heating system when leaving the house or go to bed
- Close the windows when you leave or when it rains and take back the cushions inside at night or when it rains
